If your piece is made entirely from stainless steel, (with no pearls, rhinestones, or any other material) feel free to live your life to the fullest with it. You can wash your hands, take a bath, and do your normal life. Even use the alcohol gel we all keep in our bags these days.
Maintaining Stainless Steel jewelry is so easy as you won’t have to have a special cleaning solution to care for your jewelry. Just use warm water and liquid soap to keep your stainless steel jewelry as good as new.
And YES! Our GOLD, STAYS GOLD. Yes, even with showers, lotions, etc…
Some pieces are more delicate with vintage pearls, rhinestones, gemstones, etc. If this is the case, please, avoid perfumes, lotions, oils, water, or any substances that may harm those pieces. Take off your jewelry when adding makeup, swimming, sleeping, and exercising.
After each wear, gently wipe with a soft jewelry cloth and keep safe.

Other materials:
We use freshwater pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels that we carefully select for our pieces. Pearls are sensitive and delicate in nature, so don’t forget to treat them with love. Avoid hanging pearl necklaces on a hook. Prefer to lay it flat on a pouch for storage. Wear them! Pearls were originally born in the water and benefit immensely from absorbing the oils on your skin. So go ahead, put them on and show them you care.
Sterling silver pieces are H2O sensitive. Your gold vermeil and silver jewelry should be kept in a dark, cool and dry place. Avoid water when wearing your piece, because over time the sterling silver will oxidize. However, the oils in your skin will help keep sterling silver from oxidizing faster. So, wear often your The Blanks jewelry.
For vintage pieces & gold & silver plated metals, please expect some natural minor tarnishing over time with wear. To reduce the effect of wear, gently wipe jewelry with a soft polishing cloth and store it in a dry place. Protect jewelry from water or any lotions, from abrasive surfaces and harsh chemicals and please be mindful of wearing makeup near jewelry or of getting your plated metal piece wet. Tarnishing and discoloration occur by the oxidization process when metal is in contact with air and acids through handling and moisture.
The blanks recommends that you always store your jewelry pieces individually, in a box or pouch for protection, so that they don’t rub together, scratch or tangle.
